Ball Penetrometer Testing
The Ball Penetrometer, also referred to as a “full flow penetrometer”, is used increasingly as a part of in situ geotechnical site investigations of soft clays, mine tailings and other soft sediments such as sludge and non fibrous organics.
The ball penetrometer is seen as an alternative tool for estimating initial and remoulded undrained strength, providing supplemental data to conventional methods such as the peizocone and vane shear tests.
